The European Vending & Coffee Service Association (EVA) is pleased to announce the publication of its latest Vending & Office Coffee Service (OCS) Market Report, covering data up to the end of 2024.

EVA Warns of Potential Market Slowdown Despite Record Vending Revenues in 2024

At the European level, machine fieldbase and vends have shown minimal growth compared to the previous year, with only revenue continuing to rise. Notably, there has been a clear shift in the overall distribution of machines placed in workplaces — now at 70%, down from 80% pre-pandemic. This change clearly illustrates how machine operators are diversifying their site placements to compensate for the ongoing impact of hybrid and remote work arrangements.

Among the Tier 1 “Big 6” countries, the Italian market appears to be in decline, reporting decreases in machine fieldbase, consumption, and overall revenue. In fact, Italy is the only market among the 24 covered in the report to record a drop in product revenue (-2.9%), despite the broader trend of offsetting consumption declines through price increases. Nevertheless, Italy remains by far the largest market in terms of the number of machines, totaling 809,000.

France has now overtaken Germany as the largest market in terms of total product revenue, reaching €3.69 billion. Meanwhile, the Netherlands, primarily an OCS market, continues to lead in consumption with an impressive 5.66 billion vends.

While the report covers market performance up to the end of 2024, the economic headwinds already visible in early 2025 may indicate the beginning of a broader slowdown in the vending sector. There are growing concerns that this could evolve into a more general stagnation of the industry in the coming years.

The much-anticipated annual report is, as always, freely available to EVA members. Non-members are invited to contact us.
