NAMA Sets Focus on Key Industry Issues at 2023 Fly-In & Advocacy Summit
The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) has announced a slate of programming to help define the policy agenda for its 2023 Fly-In & Advocacy Summit July 25-26 in Washington, DC.
The 2023 Fly-In & Advocacy Summit will address critical issues facing the industry and provide a platform for discussions, networking and collaboration among members and key stakeholders. With a focus on advancing advocacy efforts, the event will empower attendees to influence public policy and work toward solutions for the challenges affecting their businesses.
“NAMA and its members share a common goal of wanting to see the industry prosper now and well into the future,” said Matt Bisenius, NAMA Vice President of External Affairs. “We don’t reach that goal without making our voices heard and sharing our stories, not only with lawmakers, but with each other. That’s what makes the Fly-In such a special opportunity.”
The Advocacy Summit on Tuesday, July 25, will feature a day of discussions and educational programming:
- Stopping Catalytic Convertor Theft: Perspectives from Operators, Law Enforcement Groups, and Other Industries
- Charles Dyjak, National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA)
- Jason Olin, Major City Chiefs Association
- Scott Halloran, Trolley House Refreshments
- Growing the Industry through SNAP: What SNAP Access Could Mean for Recipients—and the Industry At Large
- Fmr. Congressman John Porter, The Porter Group
- Benjamin Rosenbaum, The Porter Group
- Ashley Hubler, The Wittern Group
- 2024 Election Forecast: Hear from the editor of a leading nonpartisan newsletter on American campaigns and elections
- Kyle Kondik, UVA Center for Politics (Sabato’s Crystal Ball)
- State Tax Reform: Changes in the Landscape and What the Future May Hold

Special guest speaker Sarah Isgur, popular media personality for ABC News & The Dispatch, political insider & influencer, and legal expert, will address attendees during Tuesday’s dinner keynote.
On Wednesday, NAMA members will take to Capitol Hill with key legislative issues in mind, including:
- SNAP/EBT Acceptance: The convenience services industry, with its expertise in supply chain, commissary, and last-mile distribution, is well-positioned to serve food deserts and underserved communities nationwide. NAMA supports expanding SNAP retail acceptance to include convenience services.
- PART ACT/Catalytic Converter Theft: Catalytic converter thefts are causing significant financial losses for businesses. NAMA supports the PART ACT because it addresses the impact of catalytic converter theft on delivery trucks that carry convenience services products.
The NAMA Fly-In & Advocacy Summit will be held at the Hotel Washington in Washington, DC, with transportation provided to Capitol Hill for visits with members of Congress.
NAMA members can attend at no charge. Registration is $25 for nonmembers. For more information and to register, visit www.namanow.org/flyin, or contact advocacy@namanow.org.
