Fast Casual Coolgreens Chain To Expand Into Fresh Food Vending With Smart Merchandisers

Coolgreens Smart Fridge VendingCoolgreens, an Oklahoma City-based fast casual restaurant chain focused on fresh, healthy food, will enter the vending market with smart refrigerated merchandisers in early 2020. The company will debut its refrigerated Coolgreens Markets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving Coolgreens’ signature salads, wraps and snacks, according to a company press release.

In expanding into the dedicated fresh food vending market, Coolgreens joins Chicago-based Farmer’s Fridge, New York City based Fresh.Bowl and Austin, Texas based Alpaca Market.

Coolgreens will deliver its fresh food in a glassfront merchandiser from San Rafael, Calif.-based Byte Technology that features a touchscreen and remote machine monitoring.

The chef-inspired items will be made fresh daily in an off-site local kitchen and delivered fresh to its merchandisers. Guests will simply swipe their credit card, open the fridge, explore the variety and make a selection.

“We’re always looking for additional opportunities to serve our guests, and Coolgreens Market allows us to reach them in new ways,” said CEO Robert Lee. “Everyone is super busy, and often it’s tough to get healthy food on-the-go. Coolgreens Market solves that challenge and enables us to offer a selection of the quality menu items that are sold in our restaurants, in a convenient, affordable way. It’s literally ready whenever you are.”

The company will be locating its merchandisers in office buildings, medical and corporate campuses, airports, rail stations, college and university campuses, along with retail mixed-use developments.

The company, which operates both corporate owned and franchise owned restaurants, will be offering franchise opportunities for its Coolgreens Market.

“We are excited to offer this unique franchise opportunity,” Lee said. “Coolgreens Market is a very cool concept that is designed to make it even easier for our guests to get our healthy, delicious recipes. Interested franchisees will be able to serve healthy food in a whole new way, while also producing an attractive revenue stream.”

Coolgreens presently operates 12 restaurants in Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska, according to its website.
