CPI Relaunches BevMAX To Meet NAMA Energy Standards
As part of the company’s green initiative, Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) is relaunching its reengineered BevMax Classic and MEDIA2 machines, which comply with changing energy guidelines and new NAMA safety standards. The updated product portfolio allows operators to resume the purchase and deployment of new machines in California.

Energy Efficient Refrigerant And Compliant With New Standards
On December 28th, 2018, the vending industry changed when the California Air Resources Board banned the sale of vending machines in California that use hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) which at the time were in use in every vending machine around the world.
California’s move to ban hydrofluorocarbons is a sign of things to come in the United States as more states can be expected to implement similar restrictions to fight global warming.
Transitioning every vending machine from HFCs to another alternative chemical, has been a time-consuming process that’s been met with inherent challenges.
Thankfully, CPI has been able to meet those challenges head–on by transitioning their new MEDIA2 and BevMAX machines to meet NAMA’s standards. These machines now use R-290, a non-toxic refrigerant that’s also found to be suitable for retrofitting existing vending machines that also use HFCs.
Since their machines are now fully compliant with the newest energy standards, CPI can move forward with confidence knowing that their machines also offer less downtime than previous models, improved serviceability, and faster troubleshooting.
