UP CLOSE: A LOOK AT 2019 ALLIED MEMBER OF THE YEAR, LARRY ATNIP 

(CHICAGO) April 17, 2019 – Larry Atnip, Vice President of Atnip Co., Inc. and President of Premier Broker Partners, was recently announced as NAMA’s Allied Member of the Year as part of the association’s 2019 Industry Awards. Atnip will be presented with his award on April 24 at The NAMA Show in Las Vegas. 

The Allied Member of the Year Award, presented to a non-operator member, recognizes an individual who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication, and leadership to the convenience services channels. Candidates must provide innovative leadership, products and services that demonstrates responsiveness to the needs of the industry through education and best practices, helping operators grow their businesses. 

A lifelong industry veteran, Atnip grew up in the family business, witnessing his father’s entrepreneurial spirit as a pioneer in the vending broker channel. In college Atnip became an entrepreneur himself, starting two advertising ventures and discovering his passion for sales. After graduation, he stepped in to help his dad run Atnip Co., Inc. after the passing of a colleague, and fell in love with convenience services.   

Atnip has led sales of Atnip Co. for more than three decades, expanding the company from California to the Northwest and Rocky Mountain markets, covering 14 western states today. In 2010 he oversaw the creation of an integrated national sales force – Premier Broker Partners. Through this venture Atnip Co., Inc. offers its services across the country, with Larry at the helm as President.  

Dedicated to serving the industry on a broader scale, Atnip is a member of NAMA’s Board of Directors and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, in addition to others. A staunch industry advocate, he is a regular participant of NAMA’s annual Fly-In & Advocacy Summit and its Public Policy Conference, educating legislators and on the convenience services industryIn 2017Atnip represented NAMA and the U.S. convenience services industry at the China International Vending Showcase in Beijing. He has also participated in NAMA’s Executive Forum.  

Atnip is also a committed leader in the California Automatic Vending Council (CAVC), having served in nearly every role on the board of directors, including president, and on many committees. He developed the CAVC Walsh Family Scholarship Foundation Fund, serves as the Atnip-Phelps Golf Scholarship Foundation Chairman, and developed the concept and layout for the CAVC website. 

Atnip has been recognized as the CAVC Supplier of the Year and Automatic Merchandiser’s Reader’s Choice Broker of the Year. Outside of work, he coaches water polo, participates in mountain bike and motorcycle races and is an avid skier. Atnip is a graduate of the University of Southern California. He lives in Fullerton, CA with his wife Kath. They have three children.
