Tucson Business Still “Sweet” After 50 years!

Tomdra Inc. a vending, coffee, and micro markets company is celebrating their 50 year anniversary. Tomdra Vending is a locally owned and family run business in Tucson Az. Tom and Sandra Elliott founders, began doing business in October of 1966 as Tucson Tom’ Company, Distributing the Tom’s brand peanuts, snack foods, and sweets to local retailers.

Tucson Tom’s introduced the 1st glass front snack machine to Tucson in 1967 and have continued to innovate the industry with automated full line vending machine services. Along the way they have added office coffee services and now the newest form of office snack and food dispensing thru micromarkets, a convenience store type of service installed in lunchrooms. Utilizing a kiosk with a swipe and pay as you go system.

Tom and Sandra Elliott raised 3 children Tommy, Tina and Todd, all active In the business today. Now the 3rd generation has joined the business. Max Elliott who serves as president of the AAMC, Arizona Automatic Merchandising Association and serving as a junior executive to NAMA the National Automatic Merchandising Assoc. Tina and Todd have also served 2 terms on the NAMA board. Todd also being presented vending operator of the year from Nama in 2014. Tommy also brings his expertise having worked with vending manufacturing companies. Tomdra has been recognized by the industry, being awarded “vending operator of the year” from the AAMC 18 times.

Celebrating 50 years, Tomdra is sharing their thanks with the community by giving away 50 prizes thruout the upcoming year. Tomdra employees 40 people has always been active in the community. Tom Sr. loves to ride each year in the Fiesta de los Vaqueros parade. Congratulations to Tomdra for surviving and thriving a well earned accomplishment. 50 years and 3 generations later.
