Roland DG wins two “Product of the Year” awards during SGIA 2018

RolandHamamatsu, Japan  Roland DG Corporation, the world leader in the manufacture of large format inkjet printers and cutting equipment, today announced that two of its products – the VersaUV LEC-540 and ECO-UV ink – have won the coveted award “Product of the Year” during the 2018 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). The VersaUV LEC-540 received the highest recognition within the category “UV Printer”, while the ECO-UV in “Digital Inks – UV”. This year’s competition featured a record of 255 entries, with winners selected in 68 different categories.

“As a pioneer in UV printing and cutting, Roland DG has played a key role in introducing and advancing this important technology, enabling users to bring the best in design and production capability,” said Andrew Oransky, president of Roland DGA , a sales and marketing subsidiary of Roland DG in the USA. “We are pleased that SGIA’s jurors have given due recognition to our equipment and inks,” he says.

The LEC-540 Integrated Clipping Printer is ideal for creating labels, labels and packaging prototypes in vibrant colors and reduced runs. With a wide variety of printing substrates it is also characterized by continuous workflow, maximizing efficiency, productivity and convenience.

Another winner at SGIA was the ECO-UV ink – in bright, white CMYK colors – specially formulated for the company’s LEF, LEC and LEJ lines to achieve unparalleled printing results. These premium inks dry quickly and are extremely flexible, producing perfect images that can extend on curved surfaces and edges without any cracking. The brilliant and white ECO-UV enable users to incorporate stunning dimensional and texture effects, adding more appeal and value to the work. Roland’s UV printing technologies will be on display at the company’s stand during the SGIA Expo 2018, October 18-20 in Las Vegas.
